{"id":19354,"date":"2018-12-14T23:44:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-14T23:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lis-demos.co.za\/irba2025\/?p=19354"},"modified":"2026-03-12T23:44:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T23:44:40","slug":"in-the-matter-of-african-bank-deloitte","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lis-demos.co.za\/irba2025\/in-the-matter-of-african-bank-deloitte\/","title":{"rendered":"In the matter of African Bank Deloitte"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>14 Dec 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Johannesburg, Friday, December 14, 2018<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;\u2013 The disciplinary hearing into the conduct of the Deloitte auditors responsible for the previous African Bank at the time that the bank failed in 2014 recommenced on Monday 3 December and sat until Friday, December 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After a total of 19 days since the first sitting of the hearing on 23 March, and subsequent sittings in September, October and November, the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors\u2019 (IRBA) investigator has concluded his evidence-in-chief in support of the charges and responding to the witness statements of Deloitte\u2019s experts and respondents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Towards the end of the December sitting, the Deloitte legal counsel spent a day and half on cross examination of the IRBA\u2019s investigator.
